There isn't a single or simple answer to this question. The right type of mortgage for you depends on many different factors:
Your current financial picture. How you expect your finances to change. How long you intend to keep your house. How comfortable you are with your mortgage payment changing.
The best way to find the "right" answer is to discuss your finances, and your financial prospects, and your preferences frankly with a mortgage professional.

Bedford has come a long way and seen a lot of changes in the 250 years since it’s incorporation in 1750. The town was named by Governor Wentworth in honor of the fourth Duke of Bedford, then Secretary of State in the government of George the Second.
In 1732 the General Court of Massachusetts, in consideration of the important services of the offices and soldiers in the war, granted to them seven townships of land; number five was Bedford, or Souhegan-East, as it was then called.
Before Bedford was permanently settled, there were Indians living in the area. The first permanent settlers in 1737 were James and Robert Walker, who were engaged in manufacturing turpentine from pitch pine trees on the east side of the Merrimack River near where Station Road is today. A few years after the first settlement, the inhabitants petitioned to be incorporated, and in 1750, the town was incorporated.
